![]() ![]() Users cannot manually change that resolution either in the game settings – which is odd. Destiny 2 defaults to a weird 1282 x 728 resolution, instead of something at, or near, the native 3240 x 2160. The answer to this one can be difficult, as it depends on the game's display settings.ĭestiny 2 is cited as the most common example, but it's not across the board. You can read more about Microsoft's Power Throttling and Power Slider in its detailed blog post on the subject. ![]() When a user forces the slider to Best performance, this energy saving feature is disabled letting the processor max out.Īdditionally, power throttling does not apply when the Surface is plugged into external power. With "Power Throttling," when background work is running, Windows places the CPU in its most energy efficient operating modes – work gets done, but the minimal possible battery is spent on that work. The Settings app now frequently fails to open (just sits there with a big blue window showing the cog icon) and a lot of the UI preferences that Windows 11 had the balls to change without asking didn't revert. Got told I was a lying troll by some random idiot on Facebook when I posted about my experience in the response to a PC Gamer article discussing people's upgrade woes. The most bizarre one was a general increase in the base load on my CPU (despite obviously not having one of the chips affected by the issues mentioned with AMD) task manager reported higher CPU from a cold start, and the fans in the display kicked in almost immediately every time. I experienced a surprising number of issues when I updated to Windows 11 on my SB2, so much so that I went ahead and rolled back after a few days. I'm so glad I'm not the only one - I thought I was going crazy/imagining things. ![]()
